An e visitor is designed for people who want to travel to Australia as many times as required within the validity period which is 12 months from the date of issue. The maximum length of each visit is three months. You must have a genuine intention to visit Australia for either tourist or business purpose. Business purpose can include attending education or business meetings, seminars, conventions or conference.
An ETA is an electronically stored authority equivalent to a visa. There is no stamp or label placed in your passport.
An e visitor does not require a physical visa label or any paper work for travel. The e visitor is electronically linked to your travel document number. As your e visitor is linked to the passport number that is used, a holder must use the same passport to travel to Australia.
This visa is designed only to allow temporary travel to Australia for tourist purposes or to visit family or friends. It cannot be used for long term stay or residence.
To be eligible for a further e visitor visa in the future you will need to demonstrate extended periods of time outside Australia.
To be eligible for an e visitor , you must hold a citizen passport of an eligible country.

| Visa Conditions: |
|
If you are at least 11 years of age intend to study in a classroom environment for a period greater than 4 weeks, you may be required to pass a chest X ray examination before commencing your studies. |
|
Your must be free from tuberculosis at the time of travel and entry into Australia. |
|
You must not have any criminal conviction, for which the sentence or sentences (whether served or not) are for a total period of 12 months duration or more, at the time of travel to, and entry into Australia. |

You may be subject to further visa conditions depending on the purpose of your visit. |

| Criminal Convictions: |
| If you have any criminal convictions in any country you may want to consider applying for a Tourist Visa (see below). If arriving with an ETA with criminal convictions, you could be refused entry into Australia.
Separate application must be lodged for each family member, even if they are children travelling on the same passport. |

Tourist Visas (long validity)
| This visa allows you to visit Austrailia for a holiday or recreation, or to visit family and friends, and also for short term non work purposes for up to 12 months, such as studies for less than three months.
Passport holders who do not fall into countries listed above should consider making an application for this visa.

Business (Short Validity)
| A Business ETA subclass 977 is designed for business people who are outside Australia and want to visit Australia for short-term business purposes, including attending educational or business related meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, networking, informal studies or training. Short-term work is only permitted in strictly limited circumstances.
If you hold an ETA-eligible travel document, and are able to declare you are of good health and character, you can apply online for a e Visitor see above. Nationals from eligible passport holders should also consider applying for an e visitor on line
If you do not hold an ETA-eligible travel document or have a criminal record. You will need to lodge a paper-based application for a Business Short Stay Visa.

Business (Long Validity)
| Business (Long Validity) ETAs are valid for multiple entries to Australia for the life of the applicant’s travel document or 10 years from the date of applying, whichever is earlier. Each time you enter Australia whilst your travel document or ETA remains valid you can stay for a period of up to 3 months from the date of entry.
This ETA is designed for short-term business visits, including attending educational or business related meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, networking, informal studies or training. Short-term work is only permitted in strictly limited circumstances.
